3 Biggest One Match wonders of Indian cricket

There have been many cricketers who fizzled after a very promising start. Some prominent names which instantly come to mind are Sanjay Manjrekar(hailed as next Sunil Gavaskar),Vinod Kambli (still remembered for his 2 back to back double hundreds against England and Zimbabwe) and Irfan  Pathan(expected to fill the genuine all rounder slot after Kapil Dev). There were some others also like Robin Singh who got inducted only at an age where they had only few years of cricketing left still but made a lasting impact.

But three biggest  one match wonders in my opinion in the last 3 decades are following:

1) Narendra Hirwani - He made unarguably one of the best debuts in cricketing history by taking 16 wickets in his debut test match against the mighty West Indies and troubled probably the best batting line up of that time with his leg breaks, flippers and googlies.

Unfortunately, apart from this  and successful home series against New Zealand he was not able to do much and faded into oblivion.

2) Hrishkesh Kanitkar - He has hit the most memorable four in the Indian cricket history in my opinion.

Chasing an extremely tough total of 315, India got off to a flying start by Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

After Sachin got out, Saurav and Robin Singh had a great partnership and were we were cruising away nicely towards the total but then 3 wickets fell in quick succession (Azhar,Jadeja and Sidhu),India were under a spot in the last over and needed 3 runs from 2 balls and he hit a four.

He became an overnight sensation especially because the win was against the arch rivals.

But post that he barely had any performances to write home about. He did ended up playing around 34 ODIs and 2 tests but without much success.

3) Joginder Sharma - The last name in this list is the most important one undoubtedly. The guy whose  over won us the 1st T20 World Cup. Pakistan needed 13 runs off the final over and he was chosen over Harbhajan for the last over as Misbah had hit him for sixes with ease and hence Joginder Sharma seemed to be a more relevant option and he didnt' disappoint his captain got Misbah caught by Sreesanth.

Currently, he is serving as DSP in Haryana Police and internationally apart from this performance he doesnt' have any other notable feats to speak about
