3 Bollywood villains whose debut performance are still the biggest of their career

There have been many iconic villains in Bollywood right from Gabbar Singh to Shakaal to Mogambo. We have had great actors like Pran, Ajit,Prem Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and many others.

Here, we will discuss 3 bollywood villains who made splashing debuts and the characters are remembered till date but unfortunately despite a great debut they could not get the success they deserved and their debut performances still rank as their best. Although, it is of course not possible to get a lifetime role every time and they would still rank as successful actors but their potential has been largely unutilized.

1.Ashutosh Rana as Gokul Pandit in Dushman - An NSD graduate, Ashutosh Rana started his career with television with Swabhimaan's Tyagi being his most well known character. His turn as the sadistic rapist having incontrollable sexual appetite send shivers down the spine and it was very uneasy to watch him which is a testimony to his great performance. It was his debut performance and he stood well against seasoned actors like Kajol and Sanjay Dutt.

He followed it up with another brilliant performance as Lajja Shankar Pandey as a fanatic who wants to achieve immortality and needs to sacrifice children to do so. He bagged back to back Filmfare Awards for his performances and was poised to make it really big. Sadly, not many good roles followed post that and he moved South. But his these two performances will always rank in any list of Bollywood's top villainous performances. From last few years, he has however made a comeback to Bollywood and is playing a myriad of character.

2.Sayaji Shinde as Bacchu Yadav in Shool - Sayaji Shinde started his career with Marathi plays and films and already a big name in the Marathi entertainment industry when he was recommended by Manoj Bajpai to Ram Gopal Verma for Shool and we should thank Bajpai for that for giving such a wonderful villain.

He played a psychotic criminal - politician in the badlands of Bihar and some of his scenes are really creepy like the one when he is playing with Manoj Bajpai's daughter or the one with a woman journalist in his car. His mood swings are also captured well where in a flash of a second he changes his colors and doesn't' spare his own henchman too and who can forget is famous dialogue - Agar Paani mein se bijli nikaloge to kheto main fasal kaise ugaoge?.

Just like Ashutosh Rana, he also didnt' get much good stuff post that and he too moved south where he is one of the most popular and highest paid villains

3.Mukesh Rishi as Billa Jalani in Gardish - After a successful modelling career, Mukesh Rishi debuted with this all time classic. Gardish would undoubtedly rank amongst the top 10 under rated movies of Bollywood. Very dark, grim  and disturbing it has one of the best portrayals of father - son relationship and features the iconic song " Hum Na Samjhe the baat itni si"

He played a local gang lord and looked  extremely menacing and terrifying and his well sculpted body added to his character. In his debut movie he was up against legends like Amrish Puri and great actors and starts like Raj Babbar and Jackie Shroff but held his own.

He then followed up with some routine performances and had a notable performance in a positive role too in Sarfarosh but that was it and he too moved becoming one of the biggest and highest paid villains of Telugu cinema.
